I've spent 40 days in the outback of Queensland and New South Wales
incommunicado with the world. Seeing this was too funny and beautiful to let
go.
All true as well. And the boy (who was Irish) was much funnier and
good-natured in the face of the police, who had accused him of stealing the
penguin, than I could have expected. And he had the crowd on the tram onside
in no time flat. As they could only do in such a situation, they backed
down. As they got off the tram, the boy said to the penguin, just loud
enough for them to hear, "You see? I told you it would be fine."
