Doug, first time I registered that Brion Gysin grew up in Edmonton was
while researching my last post. Though I know that his second book is
entitled "The History of Slavery in Canada", I've never been able to scout
it. Thanks for the report on the gallery exhibition. I loved reading his
novel "The Process", as well as whatever shorter works I've been able to
find. For quite a while I wanted to acquire that invention of his known as
a "Dreamachine", especially after viewing Tony Conrad's film "Flicker" and
hearing Stan Brakhage talk about "hypnagogic vision". Did they include a
reconstruction of it within the Edmonton exhibition? Barry
