Very nice, that idea of "serious play", Roger. And cutting up your own work or having others help out, tho daunting at times, can definitely help.
I get what you mean about the volatility (?) of interpretations of one's poems, but +still+ I wonder whether there're often poems, or bits of them, that get similar reactions from many people.
I still remember images from your poems of 2 years ago---quite powerful, I thought. But I've no clue what other folks thought.
