A new edition of the Internet for Allied Health online tutorial has been
released on the Intute: Virtual Training Suite at:
http://www.vts.intute.ac.uk/he/tutorial/allied
This interactive tutorial teaches Internet research and information literacy
skills and is aimed at students and staff in UK universities and colleges.
It is free to use and takes around an hour to complete.
The tutorial recommends key Internet resources for allied health studies,
offers advice on Internet searching and website evaluation, and has a new
section called "Success" to illustrate how the Internet can be used to
support education and research in a variety of subject-related scenarios.
It allows students to practice Internet searching by providing guidance on
using different search tools (generic search engines and specialist search
tools) and how to develop an effective search strategy.
Learn how to use the Internet to:
• find online sources to help with assignments
• find a suitable course
• help you with research
• assist with the creation of lesson plans
The Internet for Allied Health tutorial will be updated and maintained by
