This sounds very interesting - is it possible he ran a brickworks in Cornwall prior to moving to Wales? If you know anyone who knows anything about the Welsh operation, I'd be glad to provide a sample - we've got plenty of bricks! The Taylor connection is interesting, though the context we are finding them in has no historical connection with him or his activities.
