Dealing with diversity
This is a full day's interactive workshop led by Forum Interactive of Edinburgh of interest to both frontline staff and managers who may have to draw up and institute relevant policies and procedures.
Scenario
Compliance with legislation can be difficult as it doesn't take into account the human factor. Forum Interactive will present a scenario in which conflict arises when one person's right to express their specific beliefs clashes head on with someone else's. Attendees will grapple with the issues involved in compliance with legislation in the real world.
Objectives
At the conclusion, participants should be able to:
· Understand the complexity of compliance with diversity/equality regulations in the workplace
· Identify attitudes and behaviours which may be problematic
· Explore how such attitudes and behaviours may be addressed
· Explore how employers could create a non-discriminatory workplace culture
