The Wellcome Library, part of the Wellcome Trust, has an opportunity for a
dynamic and experienced Digitisation Project Manager to lead a large-scale
digitisation programme. Increasing access to its collections through
digitisation will greatly expand the potential reach of the Library and
reinforce its position as the leading international resource for
the study of the history of medicine.
In this role you will work with both internal and external stakeholders to
scope a number of digitisation projects – which will provide opportunities
for public engagement as well as facilitating research for the serious
scholar – and seek approval for their implementation.
You will manage all approved projects, including running tenders, managing
third-party contracts, maintaining the information base for each project,
and being responsible for delivering projects on-time and to budget.
You will need:
• a relevant degree or equivalent
• previous experience managing digitisation projects with successful
delivery
• strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a proven ability to work
with a diverse range of stakeholders
• staff management and/or management of virtual teams experience
• experience of requirements gathering and specification writing
This post is offered on permanent basis. Salary is c. £35,000 p.a.
