be introduced to the BUFVC at our central London offices from September

Streaming and handheld technologies to support students with disabilities
Intended Audience: Student support officers, academic staff, audio-visual
services staff
Date: Tuesday 25th September 2007
This one-day course addresses the unique problems raised when trying to
provide online access to resources for students with disabilities.
Attendees will be provided with a holistic model for targeting this area
working with the technology and infrastructure to support diverse needs.
Course content will include an assessment of:
- technologies and approaches in making the move to digital media
inclusive
- opportunities for using personal technologies such as iPods, PDAs
and MP4 players to host content
- ideas to assist the learning process for students with disabilities
Video in Flash
Intended Audience: Electronic media designers, people in the creative
industries, Flash developers
Date: Thursday 20th September 2007
This one-day course provides an introduction to Macromedia Flash, the tool
of choice for advanced web animation. With the use of the latest Video
Codec the quality of video available has increased dramatically.
Attendees will be introduced to the process of video delivery on the web and
provided with a complete process for getting video into their Flash movies.
Attendees will:
- learn about the important parameters and options available
- see a demonstration of live video delivery
- understand the complete route for delivery of video
Data Projectors for Education
Intended Audience: Audio-visual technicians, lecturers, teachers, academic
staff
Date: Tuesday 27th November 2007
This specialist one-day workshop is run by manufacturers and tackles the
subject of data projection whilst looking at a number of different projector
technologies. Attendees will gain insight into the current options and the
future trajectory of data projectors and be given the knowledge to navigate
an increasingly complex area.
The course will look at:
- the security of data projectors within educational institutions
- the benefits of a range of different projectors on the market
- how to get the most out of your data projector
