I have two questions for a publication I'm collaborating on:
1. Any idea how many books are available on Google books at the moment?
2. How many unique printed books (i.e. titles not copies) are there
are in the world? OCLC has 85 million records on WorldCat, but
that's not all books. I've read one estimate that suggests that
WorldCat has 48 million books catalogued, and someone called Kevin
Kelly claims there are 32 million unique books.
All ideas gratefully received and i will post a summary to the list.
Best regards,
Simon
