Exploding the Canon. From Medieval Romance to TV Soap:
meeting the challenges in resource provision
WESLINE/IGRS joint colloquium, 12 September 2007
The joint group of West European Studies Library Groups (WESLINE) and the
Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies are holding a one-day colloquium
at the IGRS on 12 September 2007 on the theme: 'Changing trends in French,
Hispanic and Italian studies: how do libraries provide for changing needs
in research provision'.
The morning panel and open forum is devoted to an update on changing
trends in French, Hispanic and Italian studies and the consequent resource
implications. We have speakers from the AHRC modern languages research and
postgraduate panels, Margaret Atack for the RAE and Eleanor Quince (pp
Mike Kelly) to discuss the outcome of the AHRC's review of research in
modern languages. In the afternoon there will be a series of presentations
on specific projects such as the British Library's Content Strategy,
collaborative collection management, etc in the context of engaging with
researchers and a focus on multimedia resources.
Full details of the colloquium - programme, registration form, venue
details- are on the IGRS website:
