December 3rd Pre-Christmas Drinks, The Dome, Edinburgh
OK, I admit it, There are only 138 shopping days to go before Christmas!
However, if you plan ahead you can still find time to join SIN members for
a final drink before the big day. You can even pop in after your
shopping! This will be an informal drink (paid for by yourselves, I'm,
afraid). Let John Coll [log in to unmask] know if you are thinking of coming
along as we want to gauge interest in this type of social event.
Website
A number of you have been asking what is happening about the website. As
mentioned in my previous e-mail, our new committee member Andrea
Schillinger (when she is not looking for that all important job) will be
undertaking some major redevelopment of the website. Please keep an eye on
it over the next few weeks. If you wish to contact Andrea about the
website (or an offer of employment!) pleas e-mail her at [log in to unmask]
Request for help
One of our members is interested in hearing from any SIN member who has
experience of a job exchange. If this is you please get in touch with
Alison Leslie at [log in to unmask]
New Committee members
Due to a number of departures over the last year SIN is in urgent need of
some new committee members. The work is not onerous and involves
attendance at 5-6 meetings a year and involvement in organising at least
one event. Involvement is an excellent way to get know many people in this
sector and could be very useful for career development. If interested
please contact John Coll [log in to unmask] for an informal chat.
Here for you
The Scottish Information Network was set up to help you. However, to
thrive and grow it needs an active membership. Please support it in any
way you can. Whether this be committee work, speaking at an event,
attending an event or even just sharing news. Each and every way helps SIN.
Best wishes
John
