Dear Annalise
I have looked at your questions, and I am sorry to say that I do not think I
can give useful answers. I publish journals.
I regret that I do not understand your definition of copyright charges. It
seems you are saying we would have a basic charge of some kind, and then an
extra element for copyright. But this is not how I work. I fix a price,
looking at other journals, etc. How much of my price is a copyright fee? I
have no idea; I don't know what it means, let alone how I would calculate it
I don't download articles. I have no area of research because I am not a
researcher; do you mean, what research areas do I publish in? Is value based
on a measure like the number of pages or file size? I think not. And so on.
I hope others can be more helpful!
With best wishes
Bill Page

Subject: MSc Dissertation Research - Copyright Questionnaire
Dear All,
I am currently undertaking a dissertation for my MSc in Information and
Library Studies at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. My
dissertation is based on online copyright charges for articles and
documents and the issues surrounding them.
I have compiled a questionnaire on the subject and if you could possibly
spare a few minutes to help with my research your views would be greatly
appreciated.
You can find the questionnaire at the following link:

Alternatively, if you would like me to email the questionnaire as an
attachment or if you
would like any further information you can email me at

confidence.
I will be happy to post the results of the research.
Thank you
Regards
Annalise Curry
