Hi Eduardo,
Yes, the ticTOCs service will be freely available to anyone, anywhere.
The more people who use it, the better, because this will give increased
exposure to numerous Tables of Contents; and will encourage journal
publishers to produce RSS feeds if they don't already do so; and will
also help authors of papers by better exposing their recent work; and so
on.
There may be some additional things ticTOCs will develop in the more
distant future which will be of specific benefit to those in the UK JISC
community - for example, and this is just an idea at the present time,
linking the ticTOCs directory of TOCs to SUNCAT so that the ticTOCs
server knows which journals are subscribed to by a user from a specific
institution in the UK research community, in order that these can be
highlighted to that same UK researchers when he/she is selecting TOCs.
But the intention is that all the main parts of ticTOCs will all be
freely available to all.
How will the service be financed beyond the life of the Project? We
will be looking into this, and all I can really say is that there are
various possibilities.
