There have been lots of new developments at BMJ Group over the past year,
aimed at providing our users with even more value. We now have over two
million unique users online per month, and a staggering 17 million page
views per month across all BMJ Group products. Our Google rankings are
consistently high, with all our products achieving at least 7 out of 10
(with 10 being the highest ranking).
Here are some key developments that you may find of interest:
BMJ and BMJ Journals
FREE - online legacy archives are now available for Annals of the Rheumatic
Diseases, dating back to volume 1, issue 1 in 1939, Journal of Clinical
Pathology, featuring content dating back to the first issue in 1947, and
Molecular Pathology dating back to 1994. There are over 22,000 full-text
articles in these three journals alone. The complete back archives for Gut,
British Journal of Ophthalmology and Heartare due for online release over
the next few months.
We are proud to announce that the majority of our journals have seen their
ISI impact factor increase this year. In particular BMJ has increased its
impact factor to 9.245. Gut has gone from 7.692 to 9.02 and remains at
number three in the ISI ranking for the gastroenterology category. ADC
Fetal and Neonatal edition has its first separate impact factor of 4.734,
and the number three ranking in its category.
BMJ - BMJ is publishing some themed issues over the coming months including
- Diabetes (8 September), Smoking Cessation (15 September) and Poverty,
Human Development and Health planned for October. There are more theme
issues planned for 2008 including Hypertension and Osteoarthritis.
We are happy to activate online subscriptions for our institutional

BMJ Clinical Evidence Handbook NEW - The new BMJ Clinical Evidence Handbook
(previously known as BMJ Clinical Evidence
Concise) is now available. An essential reference tool for healthcare
professionals it has recently been enhanced to be more efficient at
the point of care. Containing summary and background information for each
topic, its single page summaries provide an instant
overview of the key points.

Enhanced new website - BMJ Clinical Evidence online has had a series of
major enhancements so that users can find the
information, more efficiently:
Redesigned user interface – structured to help users find and use the

Drug safety alerts – keeping users up to date on potential drug harms
Extended search – allowing users to search across BMJ Clinical Evidence,
and a range of other resources such as BMJand the Cochrane database of
systematic reviews
