Apologies for cross-postings
Dear all,
You maybe aware of the JISC's decision to move from Athens to a new
national access management system, based on federated access management
technologies, such as Shibboleth (see www.jisc.ac.uk/federation for more
info) by July 2008. After July 2008 Athens will still exist but will
become a subscription-based service. Therefore, the JISC are actively
working with institutions, publishers and service providers to encourage
them to adopt the new system.
The JISC are also working with the key providers of library systems and
would be very grateful for your help in identifying the key library
applications that they should be 'targeting'.
We would be grateful if you could tell us what metadata / knowledge base
providers you are using e.g. MyiLibrary (ebooks), Serials Solutions
(ejournals). Also what library management system e.g. Voyager, Ex
Libris.
Please reply direct to me at [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and not to the List.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Masha Garibyan
(on behalf of the JISC Access Management Team)
