**  Getty museum to return Aphrodite to Italy
Under a bilateral agreement that resolves most aspects of the long-running 
dispute, the museum will "transfer to Italy 40 objects, including the 
Aphrodite," formally called the Cult Statue of a Goddess, in 2010

**  Medieval museum plan for old farm
A heritage trust is selling shares in a 600-year-old Powys farm to try to 
raise the £200,000 needed to restore and convert it into a medieval museum

**  A bucket of relics from Napoleonic era
Some might say the venerable firm is scraping the bucket, since the items 
include a brass telescope said to have been used by Admiral Lord Nelson on 
his flagship, the Victory, at the Battle of Trafalgar as well as a 
brass-bound elm bucket apparently used on the ship as well

**  Wax museum models vandalized
Officials said thieves took Teletubbies and other figures from Ireland's 
National Wax Museum storeroom, but left Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin in the 
buff

**  Chinese archaeologists make ground-breaking textile discovery
Chinese archaeologists have found textiles in a mysterious tomb dating back 
nearly 2,500 years in eastern Jiangxi Province, the oldest to be discovered 
in China's history

**  Japanese, U.S. WWII veterans visit kamikaze museum together
In a press conference at the Chiran Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots, the 
two U.S. veterans expressed their appreciation for the visit as a historic 
trip in which they had discovered that kamikaze pilots were not insane 
people, as they had previously thought, but human beings with emotions

Canadian researchers say they positively identified the remains of a young 
child who died when the RMS Titanic sank in 1912

**  Man, 83, in court over fake artefact
It went on display in the town's museum after first being featured in an 
exhibition at the Haywood Gallery in London, which was opened by the Queen

**  Rare fossilized cypress trees found in Hungary
Hungarian scientists say they have discovered a group of fossilized swamp 
cypress trees preserved from 8 million years ago which could provide clues 
about the climate of pre-historic times

**  New York ship museum could be used as post-attack command centre
A legendary World War II ship will return as a floating military museum in 
New York City next year, but it is also available as an emergency operations 
centre in the event of another terrorist attack

**  Still 'sharp' sword used to protect Henry VIII on display for first time
The one-metre weapon, made of iron with steel cutting edges and a basket 
hilt, was among thousands of artefacts retrieved 25 years ago from the 
wreckage of the warship Mary Rose

**  Tate examines 21st century urban life
Ten of the world's top cities provide the subject matter for an exhibition 
at London's Tate Modern museum this summer which examines the challenge of 
urban life in the 21st century
