I do not like the specific Dell laptops on offer - clunky pieces of
equipment. It does look to me a bit like being set up to fail as a
business venture.
FWIW I have installed Linux now on a good dozen of laptops (mine and
others) - Dell, Toshiba, Apple, IBM . I had initial difficulties with
stuff like modems and less frequently wireless, but this time has really
gone. My current one is a IBM T43 and it is a beautiful piece of
equipment. It works fine on Linx and did so from the moment go.
If you do want to buy without a wasted Windows licence - look further
you can get a fair number with of big company laptops with something
like FreeeDos - an dthen proceed to install Linux yourself.
