I'd second that, having used a Virgin Net address for my main personal
email for more than a decade, despite switching ISPs at least six times
since. A couple of years ago I was warned by Virgin to connect by
dial-up once every month or two to keep the account active, which I do
unless one of the kids is away at Uni and uses it for dial-up.
Currently using seven accounts, however. Five actively (Virgin, nhs,
doctors org, BlackBerry and a charity I work with), one for throwaway
addresses and my current ISP's email that I rarely use (for incoming,
anyway).
