Hear, hear! It's not the hours that GPs work that is the nub of the issue -
it's the ability of the NHS as a whole to meet demand, and that means the
free flow of communication between all the agencies involved in patient
care.
Secretaries on perpetual voice mail, consultants who don't access email, and
social services departments without a coordinator who picks up the phone are
all factors which get in the way of care.
Or have things miraculously changed since I left five years ago?

reduce our efficiency when consulting after 4.00 or over midday.
