I was flying the flag for generic prescribing in 1980 and my consultant
used to look slightly bemused at the cardex. He spent his SR time in
Therapeutics so knew his way around MIMS pretty well. In GP land I don't
think generic prescribing is always a good thing, quite apart from the
Category M changes someone--Andy was it?--referred to a while back.
THere is the more humdrum problem of patients getting their tongues and
their heads around very long and awkward names. Most of them got
Bendrofluazide ok before it was changed and now they are trying to catch
up with Bendroflumethiazide.
And I love your comment on advisers.
