Hi Ted,
Please send me screenshots showing the V1 (From DTIFIT) in all three planes
(axial and coronal through the corpus callosum, sagittal through the corona
radiata). Make sure you load one V1 for color and one with lines so you can
see both lines and colors on the screen (use the FA to modulate the one with
colors).
Peace,
Matt.

Subject: [FSL] short fibers on DTI
Hi, DTI is new to our lab and I have been working on it for a few weeks now.
We have a 1.5T GE scanner and the DTI acquisition seems to work great on it
so far except for one major problem. There are very few fibers that extend
for more than about 40mm. The problem gets worse as I look out toward the
cortex where there are tons of fibers only 10-20mm long.
I have used sample data I found online and it worked beautifully. When I
look at data from our own scanner, the gyri match up nicely with fibers
starting near the surface of the cortex. My first thought was that this is a
motion problem, but our MR physicist and the GE tech say we would see "worm
holes" on the image if that were the case. Has anyone seen something like
this before? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
ted
