The 'mounting local filesystems' 'error' is nothing to be worried
about. I'm unsure as to what causes that, but believe it may be due
to the filesharing component of VM Player not having started at that
point in the bootup.
If it boots and gives you a console then things copied over from your
laptop fine.
What Windows OS are you using?
