Matthew has confirmed that the error messages regarding the 4 bytes
missing from certain NIFTI files is indeed related to those files not
being "legal" NIFTI files - their header is missing 4 bytes at the end.
- If you just pass the image through fslmaths, this will "remove" the
problem, but will shift the data, so that's not good.
- A better fix - though not widely tested yet - is to run the illegal
image through "correctheader" - make sure you include the FULL
filename, e.g.:
correctheader brokenimage.nii.gz
It would be useful to get feedback from people about which software
is generating these illegal images, so we can all berate!
Cheers, Steve.
