Closing Date: 03/09/2007; Salary: £23,002 - £26,666
Applications are invited for the post of Teaching
Associate in Music. You will teach composition
(both free composition and pastiche) and
musicology; some teaching may be undertaken in
Music Technology depending on your qualifications
and experience. Teaching will be in a variety of
settings from small groups to large lectures;
some teaching of research methods at Master's
level will also be required.
As an integral member of a dynamic and committed
team, you will be required to liaise with
institutional colleagues to provide course input
and to take an active role in teaching-related
administration. Some development of courses in
pastiche composition and analytical techniques
will be required. Key administrative roles will
include assisting in the UCAS interviewing
process and open days throughout the academic
year.
Effective personal, written and oral
communication skills are essential. This is a
demanding and satisfying role suited to
candidates with a genuine passion for
university-level teaching in music.
This post is fixed term for nine months.
