Post-doctoral Research Fellow for Relational Religious Identities (Part
time) Salary Scale: £27,466 - £32,796
Applications are invited for a part-time (28 hours per week), temporary
postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute of Geography, University of
Edinburgh, to work on a project funded under the AHRC-ESRC Religion and
Society programme. This 12 month post will start on 1 October, or as soon
as possible thereafter. You will work with a small team to explore the
changing meanings of religion among young Christians in Glasgow, and the
role of intergenerational relationships in interpreting contemporary
religious identities. You will be largely responsible for the management
and conduct of fieldwork involving group work and in-depth interviews with
young people and their parents or guardians, and will therefore be highly
skilled in qualitative methods and analysis. You will contribute to
publications and other dissemination activities, including both academic
and community policy outreach. Applicants should have completed, or be very
close to the completion of, a PhD in human geography, religious studies,
sociology, or a related subject.
