Dear all,
Despite the similarities between the activities of Lorna Robinson's iris
project and those proposed by Richard Gilder III's company CAGSE, the two
are not linked in any way at this time. I mistakenly connected the two
after reading out-of-date information on CAGSE's website. I apologise for
any confusion (of any kind) that this may have caused.
The iris project is expanding its Latin-through-literacy pilot scheme from
one to sixteen schools in Hackney from this September. Using literacy
lessons, children in these classes will be taught using an activity-based
course which delivers Latin using storytelling and the myths of Ovid. The
children's literacy skills will be assessed at the beginning and end of
the year.
The course is being delivered by a team of UCL and KCL students who have
been trained to deliver the course, and the schools will have community
drama events and talks arranged throughout the year to accompany and
enhance their learning of Latin.
Anyone interested in getting involved with the iris project should contact
Dr. Robinson through the iris project website:

Yours sincerely,
Eleanor OKell
