MEDICAL STATISTICIAN/DATA MANAGER IN TANZANIA
Mwanza HIV/STD Research Programme
We have an exciting and challenging vacancy for a
Medical Statistician/Data Manager to join the
scientific team of a research programme on the
epidemiology and control of HIV and other
sexually transmitted diseases (STD) in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The post holder will be employed by the London
School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and will be based full-time in Mwanza.
The ideal applicant will have a postgraduate
qualification in statistics, practical experience
of working as a medical statistician, practical
experience of managing and cleaning large amounts
of data, familiarity with epidemiology, an
interest in health in developing countries and
excellent communication and organisational skills.
The initial appointment will commence as soon as
possible and continue until the end of June
2009. Further extension is possible subject to confirmation of funding.
The appointment will be made on the National
Research Fellow or Lecturer scales with a
starting salary between £29,346 and £40,335
depending on qualifications and experience. In
addition a displacement allowance of £3,196 per
annum will be payable. Additional overseas
allowances and benefits will be provided, as appropriate.
