LECTURER IN BIOSTATISTICS

The Institute of Psychiatry, a school of King's College London, invites applications for the post of Non-Clinical Lecturer jointly between the Department of Biostatistics and Computing and the Department of Psychological Medicine.
The post-holder will work on two main projects:
1. The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Biomedical Research Centre. This is a multidisciplinary grouping of researchers working on translational research. The post-holder will be expected to provide statistical expertise on a limited number of projects in this Centre.
2. The King's Centre of Military Health Research Iraq War study. This is a major epidemiological study of post-deployment health in the military. The post-holder would provide statistical guidance and conduct analyses on this data set.
The successful candidate would have opportunities for conducting his or her own methodological research and contribute to the provision of statistical and computing advice to students and staff in other departments.
Applicants should have a formal qualification in statistics, preferably hold a research degree, have relevant experience of working as an applied statistician and of teaching statistical concepts. Statistical expertise in areas of particular relevance to the behavioural sciences and psychiatry would be welcome; for example longitudinal/multilevel modelling, multivariate methods, measurement reliability and validity.
Starting salary in the range £28,417 pa to £41,925 pa (inclusive of £2,323 pa London Allowance), depending on qualifications and experience.
