Mary was a tremendous poet, one of my dearest friends, and the loss is
immeasurable. Gifted at all she did, Mary leaves a profoundly
important legacy in poetry as well as in teaching. I write from a deep
sense of loss and grief, can add more detail later (I'm away from home
as I write).
