The Individual and the Community in Formal and Non-Formal
outdoor education
Exploring together issues around:
1. Can outdoor provision really develop and change the
individual?
2. Can outdoor provision really form social skills?
3. Can we change society through outdoor provision?
4. What is the relationship between the individual and
the
community?
5. What social skills could be better developed through
non-formal education rather than formal education?
6. What are the areas where formal education and
non-formal
education could complement each other?

16.09.2007 – Departure
The conference will be open to all EOE members. We have
prepared some interesting social events for the conference,
so participating members will be given the chance to
interact with other EOE members and get to know them. That
is why we suggest that members should make their travel
arrangements so that they arrive at the Frajda resort in
Czarnocin by 5 p.m. on 13.09.2007, so that they can take
part in the social event for that evening. One of the social
events will include ‘living books’ which will be
facilitated by Jari Kujala. This activity will give the
opportunity to the participants to ask questions to some of
the keynote speakers and some of the board members who will
be the ‘living books’, regarding their experience in
their fields.
Important Note!
Frajda will arrange for participating members to be picked
up from Szczecin or Berlin, depending on where they will
arrive. Please let them know at least three weeks in advance
where you will be arriving and at what time at:
