This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and energetic
professional to develop their Management career in the field of
Information Services that embraces Archives, Records Management and
Freedom of Information Compliance.
You'll curate the nationally important archive of the Royal Burgh of
Aberdeen, and be responsible for the custody and use of Aberdeenshire
Council archives, as well as an expanding body of local government,
business, institutional and private records. You'll line manage the
Records Management and Freedom of Information Compliance functions and
play an active part in the corporate proposals for EDRMS. Under the City
Council's revised management structure, you'll be an active participant
at corporate level in the implementation of service plans and
performance monitoring and the improvement of service standards and
quality of life for the citizens of Aberdeen.
A recognised qualification in archives administration and/or records
management plus registered archivist status of the Society of Archivists
(UK) or its equivalent, and several years managerial experience within
the archives/records management environment, are all essential.
