I would suggest the inclusion of two themes:
1. Gender, Irishness and representation
2. Cultural memory
These would add to what already looks like an interesting range of themes.
All best

As you will know, the women on Ireland Research network organises
conferences about every two or three years. In 2005 we had an excellent
conference organised by Yvonne McKenna and hosted by University of
Limerick.
We are now planning our conference for September 2008 - which will be
organised by Maria Power and hosted by the Irish Studies Institute at
Liverpool.
The suggested title is:
'Ireland, Irishness and identities at home and abroad'
Themes will include:
Irish migration,
changing Irish identities,
Ethnicity and new migration to Ireland,
cultural identities in the North and South of Ireland,
gendered identities,
and more to be announced.
If you would like to suggest any further themes please let us know by
responding to the whole e-mail list.
We will be advertising the call for papers in January 2008.
If you are interested in proposing a panel of three papers please let us
know by then.
