It goes until the change in log-probability appears to stop increasing,
or for a fixed number of iterations - whichever comes first. If you
need additional information about how the algorithm has behaved, then I
would suggest modifying the MATLAB code of spm_preproc.m

Subject: [SPM] SPM5 Iteration limits in segmentation
Hello SPM users,
I had a question about the segmentation step in SPM5. As I understand
it,
the segmentation step goes through many iterations of tissue
classification(segmentation), bias correction, and spatial
normalization.
I was wondering what is the limit on this process? Does it go until a
specific -log(probability) is reached? Is there a hard limit on the
number
of iterations? Finally is it possible to find out which images hit
which limit?
I know these questions may be obvious, but I'm new to this and would
appreciate any help you might have for me.
Thank you so much for your help and time.
Ben
