I would suggest getting the data in the correct orientation before doing
anything else to them. This can be done by manually reorienting the images
via the Display button, by setting one of the zooms to -1.
I would strongly suggest that nobody modifies the value of "flip" as the
result is not necessarily predictable.
In SPM5 (because it uses NIFTI format), there should be much less confusion
about image orientations.
