*Methodological Challenges of Participatory Approaches to Research
Training Workshop*
*Date*: Friday 21 September 2007
*Location*: University of Leeds
*Workshop Leader*: Nick Emmel, University of Leeds
This one day workshop is for researchers who either use, or are
interested in using participatory approaches in their research. The
workshop will give a critical overview of participatory research as well
as examples of these methods in use. We will also look at the
opportunities and insights that participation can bring, and the
practical challenges of incorporating these benefits into social science
research. The workshop will explore the constraints and ethical
challenges faced by researchers because of the demand to produce certain
kinds of research outputs and identify ways of overcoming these challenges.
