The following has to be the same letter used for rejections - minus the very
last sentence. The first three paragraphs were so familiar that I almost
didn't bother reading it thru to the end.
I'm glad I'm anal enough to have done so.
Lo
Dear Lo,
I am sorry it took so long to edit the poetry anthology about cancer. I had
more people enter than I expected. I had 107 poets submit 290 poems which
added up to 339 pages of material. My original goal was 100 pages. A lot of
good poets and poems were eliminated.
I am pleased that so many people from around the world participated. I hope
I provided a slight chance to represent some good poetry. Unfortunately I
could not accept everything.
I really appreciated the opportunity to see so
many variations of poems about cancer.
I would like to accept In Utero
Sincerely,
