Dear all,
The July edition of the NRICH website is now live at http://nrich.maths.org
This month the mathematical problem solving and mathematical thinking
theme is Equations . The early problems help to introduce some of the
concepts and ideas which are then developed at higher levels.
Go to Stage 1 & 2 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=1> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
primary school.
Go to Stage 2 & 3 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=2> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
lower secondary school.
Go to Stage 3 & 4 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=3> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
upper secondary school.
Go to Stage 4 & 5 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=4> if
you are interested in mathematics usually encountered at post-16 level.
Have you seen the new Curriculum Mapping
<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5665&part=index> link
on the left-hand menu? We did mention this in last month's newsletter,
but we thought it worth flagging up again. Here we have identified some
"rich tasks" from the NRICH collection that could be linked to standard
school syllabus content. At present, the document focuses on
lower-secondary mathematics (Stage 3), but we are working on producing
mapping documents at other levels too, which will be published in the
coming months. Do let us know what you think - this is work in progress.
With best wishes from The NRICH Team.
