Postdoctoral positions in theoretical and computational chemistry:
Department of Chemistry, University of Toronto, Canada
Postdoctoral positions in theoretical and computational chemistry are
available immediately in the group of Prof. Dvira Segal at the
Chemical-Physics theory group, Department of chemistry, University of Toronto.
The position will be offered initially for one year, with the possibility of
extension beyond that, subject to mutual satisfaction.
Topics:
(1) Thermal transport: Developing theories and numerical approaches for
describing energy flow in molecules, both at the quantal and classical
levels. Molecular dynamics simulation will involve study of
structure-function relationship and thermal-diffusion effects.
(2) Non-equilibrium quantum dissipative systems: Developing real-time
numerically exact approaches. Applications include study of spin dynamics
and electron transfer in molecular junctions.
(3) Quantum control: Developing models for the study of quantum dynamics in
external fields. We would like to understand transport, relaxation and
synchronization in spin-bath systems, e.g. spin-boson and spin-fermion models.

Applicants must possess a strong background in theoretical method
development. Good computer programming skills and knowledge of quantum
dynamics methods and/or molecular dynamics simulations are advantageous for
these positions.
Interested candidates please send a CV, list of publications, and the names
of two possible referees to dsegal AT chem.utoronto.ca
