Hello Valerie
I had to reply and wish you all the best with your research. I am a fellow PhD candidate, and had to smile when I read the bit about all the ups and downs of research. I am carrying out a RCT comparing the outcomes for health professionals having e-mentoring compared to those who are not. I am learning lots about how to enroll people into studies as well as all the other aspects of the research process, not least what makes a successful RCT. What has been fascinating for me is what I have learnt from things that have not gone well, compared to what has gone well.
So my question to this list is: what have you learnt from your research 'mistakes' that would be valuable to pass on, especially to those of us researchers who are not so experienced in the research process?
best wishes, Sarah
