**PhD Studentship: Clinical Decision Making in Veterinary Medicine**
Applications are invited for a fully funded doctoral studentship to be
supervised jointly between the School of Sociology and Social Policy, and
the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, University of Nottingham,
to begin in October 2007.
This is a three year full time studentship supported by the University of
Nottingham for work on a project examining whether and how evidence based
medicine (EBM) influences clinical decision making in UK veterinary
practice.
The studentship will cover all tuition fees at the Home/EU rate, and
provide additional funds for research support costs. The successful
candidate will be part of a group of researchers in both Schools working
on clinical decision making in both animals and humans.
Candidates should have a good honours degree in sociology, veterinary
science or a healthcare related subject. They should preferably have a
Masters degree which includes a substantial research training element, or
research experience in a work setting.
Further details of how to apply are available from Debbie Coutts at
