Tyne and Wear Museums are beginning to use PRINCE2 for all our
significant projects, including ICT ones. At present we are piloting the
use of PRINCE2 with a number of projects including at least one which
has a significant ICT component. Am happy to discuss further on or off
list.

Subject: Project Management
Colleagues,
I am responsible for IT project management within Kew Gardens,
and we are at present engrossed in defining our processes and
feeling our way towards best-practise methods of managing our IT
and its associated projects. For the acronym collectors amongst
you, this means tailoring government standards PRINCE2 and ITIL
to work at the marvelously eccentric and unique organisation that
is Kew! The projects range from backoffice infrastructure projects to
public-facing web developments and all stages in between.
I wonder whether any MCG members are in similar roles, or have
formal processes for project management? It would be nice to get
some feedback on what works (or not) in other organisations. I
don't recall any previous discussion on this list on project
management, but plenty of projects are discussed so it must be
going on...
If members could contact me on or off list, and offer any
observations, I'd be grateful.
Thanks,
Mark
