I agree, creating a personal account for an organisation is a bit of a
fudge - and goes against the Facebook culture of only adding real-life
humans to your friends list (unlike on Myspace).
However, you can still engage with users on Facebook. One of my
colleages has set up a group, for example
(http://uclac.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2982780206), which seems a lot
more appropriate (especially for an organisation which holds events).
