INFORMATION OFFICER

Fixed-Term Contract to 31st March 2008
37½ hours per week
An opportunity has arisen to contribute to the work of a prestigious
national healthcare knowledge service, the NHS Scotland e-Library -
www.elib.scot.nhs.uk . In this varied post, you will facilitate access to key
information and learning resources for all NHS Scotland staff and partners,
working with the team to identify suitable resources for inclusion in the
e-Library family of websites, cataloguing them to professional standards and
assisting in training and support of other Knowledge Services Group staff
members in the use of the e-Library Metadata Management System. You
will also assist in acceptability testing of enhancements to the e-Library user
interfaces and administer access to LearnDirect courses within the new Virtual
Learning Centre website.
Educated to degree level with a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship/
Information Science, you will have current experience of professional cataloguing
and indexing and be familiar with administering electronic information and
learning resources - preferably within a healthcare context.
