Unfortunately these systems don't exist throughout the country. I'm
looking at trying to organise something to help the health librarians in
Wales get ILL photocopies through a system. We used to have a system but
it has recently been disbanded in it's official sense.
Maybe it might be an idea to let everyone know which schemes we're all
members of so we can all participate and benefit. We use the NULJ and of
course the Britsh Library.
Out of interest if anyone out there has set up a scheme which enables
libraries in various sectors to ask for photocopies from each other I
would be very grateful for any guidance you would be able to give me.

I am often puzzled by all the requests for articles on lis-med. Do
other regions not have interlending schemes like we have across south of
England?
We can find out whether a library from Kent to Cornwall via Bucks has a
journal (members include NHS libraries, HE and FE libraries plus others
such as hospice libraries) then we are members of NULJ for nursing
journals and PLCS - Psychiatric Libraries Co-op Scheme. Then we go to
the BL only using lis-med as a last resort. The amount of traffic on
this subject does make it feel like some people use lis-med as a first
resort.

I think Chris Hand's suggestion of a national journal holdings list for
NHS-England would be excellent. - (But would the publishers start to
put up their prices if we get too organised?).
The only other problem I could see, would be single-working library
staff who may not be able to cope if inundated with requests....
However, we have definitely been told we are covered to copy articles
for other NHS staff.....
Best wishes
