Librarian (Systems & User Education)

The Jerwood Library of the Performing Arts, which supports teaching,
learning, performance and research at Trinity College of Music, seeks to
appoint a full-time Librarian to its small team of professional staff
assisting the Head Librarian in the planning, organisation, development and
promotion of Library services.
Specific responsibilities include:
the day-to-day administration of the Sirsi Unicorn library management
system and the ongoing development of its iLink public interface, Workflows
staff interface and Hyperion digital media archive;
promotion of the Jerwood Library including the updating of its web and
intranet pages;
responsibility for user education within the Library, including the design,
organisation and delivery of user training programmes and producing guides
and user education materials;
some cataloguing of books, audiovisual materials and printed music.
You will be a graduate (preferably with a degree in music), with a
postgraduate qualification in librarianship and at least 1 year’s
experience in a professional librarian’s post, preferably in an academic
and/or music library. You will have excellent problem solving, time
management and IT skills, as well as the ability to prioritise tasks,
analyse complex information and work as part of a small team, whilst
displaying a flexible approach to your work and the ability to adapt within
an environment of rapid change. Experience of systems administration, music
cataloguing and the delivery of library skills training would be an
advantage.
