The College of Law is focused on delivering excellence across a range of
pre and post qualification courses in support of the legal community. With
centres across the country we are continually looking to enhance and expand
the electronic systems and services available to our students.
We now have two vacancies in our VLE team.
Deputy Director - VLE
Up to £42k p.a. Full time; excellent benefits package.
Location: London preferred but could be any of our 6 centres
We are at the leading edge of delivery of e-learning content for legal
education using our Blackboard VLE. We work with course designers, multi
media technologists, student management and know how experts to deliver
online blended learning to our users. Due to an internal transfer, we are
now looking for a new Deputy Director to lead the VLE team.
You will have a good understanding of the technical and functional aspects
of these systems (ideally Blackboard) as well as an excellent understanding
of their uses and potential (to be able to oversee the operational side of
this role). You will also need to demonstrate that you have knowledge of
the wider educational issues and the foresight and imagination to
contribute at a strategic level to the future of VLE or similar systems
into our legal education environment.
Self motivated, well organised and with excellent project management
skills, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to collaborate and
negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders across a multi-site
environment. Excellent staff management skills and a good understanding
of the technical aspects of the system will be an advantage.

Senior Information Officer (VLE)
£26 to 30k depending on experience. Excellent benefits package.

Working as part of our established Blackboard VLE team, this role will
liaise closely with the VLE manager on all operational aspects of the
system. Your specific focus will be to liaise with programme teams in
order to understand course requirements and develop new VLE solutions to
meet these needs.
You will have experience of administrating a VLE system (ideally
Blackboard) and have an excellent knowledge of the broad uses and potential
of such a system. Well organised and with excellent administration skills,
you will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate and work with a
wide range of stakeholders across a multi-site environment. An ability to
design and deliver user training would be an advantage.
