Just a reminder that our next training course will be Finding out about the EU - Friday 7 September in Manchester.
The course is designed to help people:
- find out what the EU is and how it works
- identify the major types of policy and legislative documents
- learn about the Union's free online sources
- know how to keep up-to-date
- assess which source(s) can help answer specific EU enquiries
- decide where to turn for help
Meanwhile, the latest additions to our website include:
- The European Ombudsman has called for citizens to have wider access to documents and information, so that they can better understand the role played by the Member States in making and implementing EU policies.
- The European Data Protection Supervisor wants the Data Protection Directive (95/46) to be fully implemented before any changes are considered, and suggests a number of actions to ensure full implementation ...
- A services contract notice has been published to find a company to develop a legal database for archives in Europe deadline is 17 September.
- Elderly and disabled people will benefir from new rules prohibiting airlines and tour operators from refusing to carry passengers on the basis of reduced mobility.
