The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) of the Swiss Tropical
Institute (STI) conducts consultancy, project management, training and
applied research work in international health. To complement our Health
Economics team, we are seeking a full-time position of a
Health Economist, Project Manager
The successful candidate will contribute to:
• Developing our expertise in health economics and in economic evaluation
• Strengthening our project management capacities
• Delivering highly professional services to our clients
• Identifying and attracting projects in health economics
To best fit into our team, we expect the following profile:
• You are a Health Economist with a Master in Health Economics and/or a
Master in Public Health
• A PhD in a relevant topic is desirable
• You have experience in public health issues related to developing
countries
• You have a proven experience in economic evaluations
• You have a track record of project management and leadership experience.
• You have an excellent command of English and French,
• Working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese would be an asset.
The successful candidate should have good communication skills, a strong
spirit of team work, initiative and ability to work with professionals in
a multicultural context.
The position involves regular travel. The STI offers an excellent
opportunity for the successful candidate to become integrated in a wide
range of activities, covering Africa, Asia, Eastern and Central Europe and
Central Asia.
The position is based in the Health Systems and Economics Unit of the
Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH), within the Swiss Tropical
Institute (www.sti.ch) in Basel, Switzerland. We work in a stimulating
academic environment, with links to bilateral and multilateral
organisations, universities, and non-governmental organisations.
