Forgot to mention, regarding the agenda:
1. Quick site upgrade status
Sites should upgrade to the production release ASAP!!! If they need to
delay for a few days due to ongoing tests, they should install the
patched 1.5.10 gridftp server (if they are still on the 1.5.10 release).
If they are on any 1.6.X branch of DPM, they should upgrade to the
1.6.5-3 gridftp server.
And 1.8.0 testing...
This was being discussed today. It's been taken care of by the GSSD. I'm
participating in it for GridPP with the test dCache at Edinburgh. No one
else should get involved yet, unless they really want to of course. The
plan is to start deploying dCache in production once it's been tested
(hopefully stressed) by the VOs on PPS. The plan is that this should
start from mid-October.
**Everyone should be running a production SRM2.2 (dCache or DPM)
endpoint by the start of January 2008. The installation of the server
software is not a problem. However, sites will have to be educated about
the concepts behind SRM2.2 and how to configure their servers in the way
that the experiments will require.
2. Quick storage publishing discussion
``Speed is substute fo accurcy''
Sites should check the accounting system to ensure it is consistent with
local usage/availability.
GIPs for publishing the SRM2.2 storage space token descriptions do not
exist yet, for any implementation.
3. Glue schema discussion
GLUE 2.0 discussions are starting now. We should be involved (obviously
Jens and Stephen B are already doing this). Laurence Field asked for
input to the discussions during the meeting at CERN today. He invited
anyone along to the meetings.
Cheers,
Greig
