I had really done anything except NOT put the feet apart
(which is more natural and comfortable as Margaret tells us
and patients would tell you if you asked!!)
She also insisted on ALWAYS warming the speculum
and used midline episiotomy, claiming they healed
better (which IMO they did), and were more natural
as cutting across muscle is not really ideal, scars
and often leads to one half of the muscle not working
properly again - this you can check youself if you check
pelvic floor muscle at Post-natal, which she also insisted on.
She was a wise old bird !!!
